If you are looking for a great escape from the heat head on up To Tenaya Lake on Hwy 120 east the Tioga Pass Road. Located about 8 mile west of Tuolumne Meadows this beautiful Alpine Lake is surrounded by domes and mountains. The east end has a white sand beach and the water is surprisingly warm. You can swim for quite a long time and the kids will love playing in the sand.
