Federal stimulus money is being used by the National Park Service to rehabilitate parks that touch the Central Valley – Yosemite, Lassen and Sequoia-Kings Canyon.
The money is coming from favorable pricing on its stimulus fund large construction projects that has resulted in savings of over 20 percent totaling approximately $129 million, the National Park Service says.
The Central Valley projects are among an additional 30 high priority projects across the country, the NPS says.
“These projects represent critical priorities for us that will also benefit the economy and create jobs in the near term,” says Jon Jarvis, director of the National Park Service.
