Yosemite Coyote begging for food on the Badger Pass Road

 Good news is that the couple in this van were not hurt but they were stuck hanging over that hillside for a bit. It was one of those ESCAPE vans and they did have chains on.

 The Tresidder House in Curry Village has been removed. This historic building was removed as it was in the rock fall zone.
This photo shows it in the 80's

 This map was made just the same month as the A-Rock fire that destroyed 66 homes in Foresta

Does anybody know that this is slated for removal under the Merced River Plan? It was not in any of the workbooks, just presented at one of the last meetings so folks could not comment on it!

Ahwahnee Hotel Great Lounge, historic stencils see light again, 12/14/12
Apparently the Great Lounge had stencils decorating the beams above the current stencils and on top of the columns back in the 1930's. The Navy used the hotel as a hospital from 1943 to 1945 and during or shortly after they were painted over. NPS is now doing research on these historical elements and has begun to remove paint to expose the old stencils.

There is a old mine just west of the Yosemite Border that has all this old equipment.
Not sure what this is, anybody know?

 The rain has arrived but the snow level is up around 8,000'

 This is the Lower Merced River Canyon just below Yosemite at the town of El Portal, You are looking east up river towards Yosemite Park.

The LadyBugs migrate and form into to clusters this time of year. They are hibernating and when the temperature gets to around 70 degrees they will take flight.

In case you haven't been up to Yosemite Valley lately the fall colors are almost peaked. Lots of beautiful red, orange and yellow leaves highlighted against the brown meadow grass
